Admiror Gallery is free extension for Joomla! based websites. Admiror Gallery is all in one, a simple and instant solution for rendering image gallery from folder with images, but very flexible and adaptable.
Perhaps I'm missing a setting, but I'm not seeing a place to re-size the photos automatically.
I see the thumbs get made automatically and are the right size (in pixels and file size), but the slim box doesn't appear to be controlled size wise and fluxuates based on the original image size.
You didn't missing any settings. AG is just an Engine for transforming folders with images into API, which can be used with any kind of image script library, as a Slimbox. We don't make these libraries, just provide a platform for them.
For example, Fancybox library take care about browser window size, and shrink original image to optimal size. Slimbox doesn't do this by default. So, if You have a BIG images, which should be resized in most cases, I recommends to switch Popup to Fancybox.
Best option is to use optimised original images, resized (for example 800x600px) and saved as JPG with 96% compression. This will make Your site working faster, than having a large images. You can use some batch processors which converts and resize more images at once. I recommends to use IrfanView or Phatch for this operation.
