Lazy load of images in a gallery

Is it possible to start showing the gallery before the images are all loaded?

I have a large gallery and it takes ages to load and show the images.

Currently this is not implemented (lazy load) but I think that it could be implemented in some of the existing templates. But it would require a mixture of programing and designing

I've done a few changes to the gallery and the lazy load works perfectly now.
